Incredibly exciting news was revealed today that has caused quite the hype amongst Australian anime fans. Madman Entertainment has just announced that a highly anticipated movie will have its official Australian Premiere at the final 2017 Madman Anime Festival (MadFest) in Melbourne this November.
Mary and the Witch’s Flower the first feature film from Studio Ponoc, the Japanese animation house founded by former Studio Ghibli producer Yoshiaki Nishimura and director Hiromasa Yonebayashi, the filmmaking duo behind the 2015 Oscar®-nominated When Marnie Was There.
The film adaptation of the beloved novel by Mary Stewart, ‘The Little Broomstick’, takes audiences onto a fantasy adventure and makes fans believe in magic again. This film has the makings of being something wonderful and has been said that it will take audiences on a truly heart warming adventure.
The Australian premiere of Mary and the Witch’s Flower will take place in the AnimeLab Arena at Madman Anime Festival Melbourne on Sunday, November 5th, 2017 and will be screened in Japanese with English subtitles.
Tickets to the premiere are $15 and available to purchase at the Madman Anime Festival ticket desk from 4pm – 8pm on Friday, November 3rd, or from 9am on Saturday, November 4th. It is important to note that you don’t have to attend the festival to see the movie, however we know you guys will not miss out on such a wonderful anime festival 😉
